Week of November 24

Posted in Jay's Blog, The Beat by Administrator on the November 24th, 2008

Jay had a great visit with Kandilyn in Branson, and they had a nice celebration for her birthday Saturday.  Now he looks forward to sons Eric and Marcus arriving in Branson, so tomorrow is another exciting day for Jay.  The ideas are just flowing out of Jay lately, and you won’t believe all of the cool things he wants to put into motion.  The first is the DVD of Jay singing and drumming “Little Drummer Boy” with the Brunson Brothers as his back-up group.  We hoped the DVD would be available by the end of last week, but it is in production as we speak, and will ship out this week.  Watch Jay’s site if you are interested in ordering this very cool DVD.  The video is energy-packed, and super fun to watch.  (Just a side note:  It does not include Jay’s drum solo, just the actual Drummer Boy song.)   There are a lot more fun projects on the horizon, so keep an eye on this blog, Jay’s site, and his folder on the Osmond Brothers’ forum…you won’t want to miss a thing!

Nephew David will step in for Jimmy next week, as the Osmond Brothers finish up their Christmas shows at the Branson Variety Theater.  From there they head to Spokane, Washington for a few Christmas shows, and get a couple of quick days back home in Utah before heading to Uncasville, Conneticut for three exciting Christmas shows at the Mohegan Sun.  Jay will get home in the nick of time to celebrate Christmas with his family.  Whew!

The season is definately upon us, and it will be getting hectic for all of us soon.  I hope all of you find a few moments here and there to relax and take it all in.  :-)

Week of November 17th

Jay was joined by Kandilyn in Branson yesterday, and he is very happy to have some time to spend with her while he, Wayne and Jimmy are performing their Branson Christmas shows.  Eric and Marcus arrive in Branson next week, and Jay is so excited for them to get there as well.  Jay has a lot of projects going right now, one of which is the ongoing project of his book.  He feels like he is well underway with it now, though it is going to take longer than he originally announced.  The holiday photo of him from the Branson Variety Theater is now available for purchase on Jay’s website, and each photo has been hand-signed by Jay.  There is another surprise coming very soon, and I think all of you are going to be absolutely thrilled with this one.  Let me just say…how would you like to have a little DVD of Jay???  ;-)

Have a happy week!

Week of November 10th

Jay is settling into his “Branson routine,” and has been pleasantly surprised by the enthusiasm over his Drummer Boy CD and new holiday photo.  Both have sold out at the Branson Variety Theater’s gift shop, but they will be re-stocked with both items within the next day or so.  Thank you to everyone for showing such excitement over these solo offerings from Jay!  The shows in Branson have been very well received too, with several sold-out performances.  I haven’t seen the show yet myself, but I’m hearing from many of you that it is fabulous.  I hope many of you are going to have the chance to get to Branson this holiday season to see one of their shows at the Branson Variety Theater.  I’ll be giving a little report on the show through Jay’s website next week.

I’ve received such a warm welcome over on the Osmond Brothers’ forum, with Jay’s new folder there.  It has been fun reading the comments.  If you don’t frequent that forum, I highly recommend giving it a visit.

All of the Drummer Boy CDs ordered through Jay’s site as of November 9th have been shipped out.  Orders placed for the CD through the Osmond General Store should be arriving to you very soon as well.  Again, that you for the enthusiasm over this solo holiday CD single of Jay’s…we’d love for you to leave your comments about it in Jay’s folder on the Osmond Brothers’ forum.  :-)

Have a nice week,

Terri

Week of November 3rd

Posted in Jay's Blog, The Beat by Administrator on the November 3rd, 2008

This past week has been crazy busy!  Last week I mentioned that Jay returned from Ireland on Friday, and went right into the studio on Saturday to take part in a music video with the Brunson Brothers.  The video is coming along, and I’ll be able to share more on that soon.  The next few days, Jay spent getting ready to pack up and head to Branson for the next month and a half.  He set out on the road this past Tuesday, to make the 24-hour drive from Utah to Missouri.  He spent three days on the road, and arrived in Branson Friday.  I left the day after Jay for a trip to Myrtle Beach, but we ended up having to take care of details to wrap up the “Drummer Boy” CD project while Jay was driving and I was “beaching.”  I listened to the final track of the CD on my husband’s laptop in our hotel, and I was blown away.  We finalized everything Thursday, and the initial shipment of CDs were rushed into production to be sent to Branson.  Originally, Jay wasn’t going to be performing “Drummer Boy” in the Branson show, but it was added to the line-up, and I for one was thrilled about that!  We’re so excited about this CD, and hope all of you enjoy it.  You can listen to a clip of the song in the store on Jay’s site:

Remember, this is a limited edition CD, and has some really cool things in addition to Jay’s great singing of this holiday classic.  There is a wonderful old photo of Jay drumming as a little boy, a fabulous caricature drawn by Jimmy of Jay as the drummer boy, and Jay’s spectacular drum solo is included too!  I promise you won’t be disappointed in this CD!  The CD is available through Jay’s site, the Osmond General Store, and will be in the Branson Variety Theater’s gift shop.  I just checked, and the CDs are in transit as I type this, so please be patient…they are on the way!

So, shows are underway in Branson, and Jay said things are going well.  Jay has always had a special place in his heart for Branson, and enjoys his time there.  Kandilyn will be joining him in a couple of weeks, and Eric and Marcus will be visiting their dad for Thanksgiving.  When I’m there, we plan to really concentrate on the book.  There is one fun project that we are hoping to bring out before the book though.  Right now, we’re thinking it will be right after the holidays…and it is going to be SO COOL!  I’m really excited about it, but I’m not giving away too much yet.  You will get to hear Jay singing again though…that is my only clue for now.  ;-)

Have a great week,

Terri
