Hi Jason!
I do Amateaur Theatre and I have to say that when I Directed for the first time and saw my plans and scribbles take shape into a show it was so emotional that on the opening night I cried..I stood back and said to myself.. Gee, I did this.
I am now renound for crying at every show!
I am now about to tackle to biggest adventure so far I am Directing 40 kids (7-18) + 40 adults (don’t know which is worse) in “OLIVER!” I am excited and absolutley PETRIEFIED!! :0D
I always tries to be a good person and be polite at all times and I hope that my friends can say that I made a difference to their lives. I adore all their children as I am unable to have any of my own, so I think they might love their Auntie Nona.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for this fantastic journey you are about to undertake,I hope that you can keep in touch with us here.
Jason, keep a journel.. keep tickets/stubbs and EVERYTHING! Make sure that you soak everything up and make a note every night on something special that happened or someone touched that touched your heart.
Keep your head up high and smile that smile, even though you may and, possibly will get knocked back.
So so so proud of you Jason and I will miss you
Take care Kiddo

Hi There Jason!
First I wanted to say how much I like your site and your blog. and that I’m looking forward to seeing your movie. (Congrats!) Second please tell Marcus I like his site and I’m looking forward to what he will be adding in the future. (I’m also a huge animal lover and think it’s so cool Isaac is in your family pictures.)
Here’s my story, at two and a half years old I first watched “The Smothers Brothers Show” and at that moment I knew I would be in Show Business. First they got to Sing, and they were Funny, and they were on Television, it doesn’t get any better than that. So growing up I read all I could about the business. I also learned to read music, play the Flute and Piano and Sing. When asked, I told people I was going to be in Show Business and they would laugh and pat me on the head and tell me since I was a girl and also because I had no relatives in the business I was dreaming and it was never going to happen.
Well I didn’t listen. I watched the Donny and Marie Show every week, learned all the harmonies in all the Osmond albums, (Your Father’s my favorite) and all the many parts to all the “Carpenters” albums as well and managed to get through High School in a year and a half.
Went to College and studied Music with Frank Pooler who taught the Carpenters (Richard gave me a “Carpenters” Scholarship, which was a very memorable moment in the story of my life) and I also studied Television Production at the same time all while volunteering at Summer Stock theatre and learning everything I could possibly learn. Then I got a job at Knott’s Berry Farm in the Theatre working as a Stagehand/Lighting Technician (met and got to light the Smothers Brothers and told Tommy my story, another very memorable moment in my life) and graduated with two degrees. I then managed to get into IATSE and moved my way up through the ranks and began doing lighting for Television shows. One of my first jobs as a Union member was as the Movinglight Programmer/Operator for the first Children’s Miracle Network Telethon held at Disneyland in 1987. I remember looking at the stage and realizing I was lighting “Osmonds”! (That of course was another very memorable moment in the story of my life!) I continued to Sing and perform and also teach music as well as being a Lighting Technician. The first time I worked on the Academy Awards I realized I had accomplished my dream. I was really working in Show Business. Not too bad for a “little girl” who had no relatives in the Biz!
Over the years people have asked me how I have managed to be in the business this long without being pressured into drinking, smoking or doing drugs. My answer is, I had wonderful role models. You may have heard of them, they‘re celebrating their 50th Anniversary in the Business this year and I couldn’t be prouder than I already am to be an Osmond fan.
As you embark on your amazing adventure I want you to know how excited I am for you. You have been a wonderful blessing to your parents and family and now it’s time to share you and the passion and joy you have for life with all the many people you will be coming into contact with during your Mission.. You will be in my thoughts and prayers while you are gone and I am looking forward to hearing more of your music when you return!
Peace Be With You,
LEE

Hi Jason: You will love Nashville! We have 4 seasons.
) One of the best things is that you can have country life & city life within just minutes. The people here are very friendly. The cultures are diverse. If you serve in our ward, you’ll see that it’s the most AWESOME in the mission! HA!
Anyway, my most exciting experiences were getting to visit Greece & France. Those are memories I’ll never forget.
Be safe. Hope to see you soon.
Take care,
Betsy in Nashville

Hi Jason,
I just wanted to say good luck in your new adventures. Even though it can be scary at times these are the best years of your life. My life changing experience happened in 2001 when I left an abusive relationship after having a gun put to my head. I was homeless for a few months and was so very scared. That is the point in my life that I came to know the Lord and my life changed in that instance. I bought two abused horses later that year and slowly together we learned to have trust again in each other and in others and they taught me to love
again. One of the ones I rescued had a colt 11 months after I got her and he is such a character. They all three make me laugh at least once a day. Someday I hope to have my own ranch and use the horses as some form of thearapy for either abused women and children and or handicapped individuals. God Bless You Jason.

Dear Jason,
What a wonderful post you wrote! Even your title, “Experience Life” is thought provoking (and motivating too!). The pic is beautiful as well! You are really setting such a genuinely good example for others- enjoy every bit of your mission! Your positive influence will spread to many persons and be of help to more than you probably could even know! I luv the idea to keep a journal and whatever else u want to keep(as Phebes wrote above). I’ll bet there will even be times you may wonder who is helping who more? When I taught in Kindergarten one year; I sometimes learned more from my students! Even as I was helping them, they taught me so much just by being themselves and giving their love. It was a very interesting result! Wow, I love your question about life changing experiences! While I definately have had some, I don’t know which one to write about right now! I will have to get back to you about that- I will post it in the near future. Mmmmm, very thought provoking! So, even if u are not able to post for quite some time (which, by the way is completely understandable since you will be on your mission), just know that we love ya and are very proud of the Lord’s work that you will be doing! I know it will be a wonderful experience for you and you will do so well with your mission! Being true of heart really just leads the way. I have nephews around your age whom I love as if they were my own. I am very honored to be able to share some of my thoughts with you too! Take good care of yourself and remember that you will also be in my prayers for all good things! Lots of hugs to you! Thanks so much for your awesome and thoughtful post!
Love your friend, Dee

Hi Jason…I live around the corner from the Deseret Book you visited yesterday and a young friend from my ward who works in the store told me how excited you seemed to be when talking about your mission. This wonderful young woman has not been to church in quite some time, but you — along with Pres. Monson’s conference talk — has her thinking for the first time in a long time that she will be welcomed back with open arms. See? You’re already a successful missionary! Have a safe trip!

Hey Jason,
My greatest experience in Life has been Life itself. Learning from the mistakes and savouring Life’s moments. How I make a differnce is to be a better mother than what I had so my children can be even a better parent than I. I also help women reach their dreams and goals and give them the tools and knowledge to achieve them. When I hear from them and they are emotional of their achievements and express their gratitude, I know I have made a difference. Good Luck on your mission – “No” just means “Next” and don’t take it personally – “Just shake it off” Most of us are afraid of God, only because we know we have failed him. Stay Safe Darling ……..

hi jason, the greatest experience in my life was having my 2 children, I can’t imagine life without them now, as I’m sure your mom can’t imagine life without you, Eric and Marcus.

Hello again Jason,
I am “getting back to you” as I said I would in my post above. While there are several, one of my life changing moments is that I am looking forward to adopting! Loving children with all my heart, I just always thought for sure I would have my own. The idea of not being able to have my own was very difficult – I never thought it would be that way. However, as time passed I began to reconcile it more and really feel wonderful about giving children who need a home and family – me as their Mom. I also know, that this ability to feel better about it was for sure, with help from above. I have nephews and a niece whom I love as my own!(They are life changing for me, too). As I have heard your wonderful Aunt Marie say on television, when asked which children of hers are adopted, she has responded that they are all hers. That says it all! The greatest love of all is within us to share. You’ll certainly be sharing your love during your Mission! Take good care of yourself and enjoy.
Bye again, your friend Dee

Hi Jason,
My life changing experience happened 8 years ago when my husband took seriously ill. It taught me just how precious this life is and also what is important. The lifestyle that we had before his illness was very hectic but now it is a much slower pace that we can actually enjoy the life we have. There have been many challenges but we have found our inner strength & now our faith is stronger too. My grandmother always used to say that the Lord will not give you a trial if he doesn’t think you can cope with it. Often I have thought I would not cope but with his help I always seem to.
We hope your Mission goes well.
God Bless
Wendy

Jason – you said such sweet things about your family on your official website. That’s just one reason as to why I love all of the Osmonds – a family that’s full of such sweethearts. I esspecially love how you said that your mom has always been your best girl & always will be – that really made me blush. It kind of made me get a crush on you too. HAHA Anywho, hope your mission goes well & lots of love to you & your family. XOXO
